Portland local darlings The Dandy Warhols are back, and they’ve enlisted super guitarist Slash from the iconic 80s band Guns N’ Roses, perhaps the biggest single act in rock from 1985-92, on their new single “I’d Like to Help You with Your Problem”. This single is taken from their new album “Rockmaker”, due out March 15th.
The Dandys are already having a great past year; playing with the Oregon Symphony, hosting posh parties, working on side projects, touring the US (twice!), collabing with James Mercer, Black Francis, Slash, and Blondie, and jamming with The Black Angels and the Brian Jonestown Massacre in Austin at Levitation Festival, and finally the release of their 12th studio album.
This is the second single on the album, and features some blistering psych guitar work by Slash, over The Dandy Warhols signature drone/variance plays, with poingnant, witty lyrics. It’s a combo that I wish we could explore some more, but this track is likely to have to suffice for a few years on the TDW/Slash collaborations.
